Biggest ICT Event concluded as a great success in Karachi

Karachi Expo Centre, September 22, 2011:-

11th ITCN Asia 2011 Int'l Exhibition & Conferences has been a resounding success and reinforced Pakistan as a key emerging ICT market. 67 foreign delegates from 17 countries congregated to Karachi to witness the latest ICT technologies and products exhibited.

The Event was inaugurated by Speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro. Country Manager Microsoft Pakistan, Kamal Ahmed; Deputy CEO, Huawei Technologies Pakistan (PVT) Ltd, Colin Hu; Economic Consular of Iran, Syed Hasan Alvi and President Ecommerce Gateway, Dr. Khursheed Nizam were also present at the occasion.

More than 103,643 visitors from all over Pakistan witnessed the products that were catered to various ages, needs & requirements. ICT products / services, telecommunications equipments, systems, networking, IT solutions, software/ programs, office automation, latest PCs and laptops, mobile phones, multimedia devices and digital products were displayed at ITCN Asia.

During the 3 days of the Event, Microsoft | OPEN DOOR Event; Enterprise Solutions Seminar by Huawei; P@SHA Launchpad by Pakistan Software Houses Association;  Information Security Forum with the theme “the Emerging Virtual Challenges & Threats” by Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA-CERT); Digital Marketing Forum; Conference on Mobile Applications; Conference by Mobile Monday also held at  ITCN Asia.

The Guests of Honor visited during the Event include Federal Minister for Science & Technology, Mir Changez Khan Jamali; Sindh Education Minister, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq; Chairman PTA, Dr. Mohammed Yaseen; Chairman SUPARCO (Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission), Maj. Gen. (R) Ahmed Bilal; IGP Sindh Wajid Ali Khan; Sindh Rehabilitation Minister Haji Muzaffar Shajra; AIG CID Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh; Turkish Commercial Attache, Fisun Aktug; Chief Expert Russian Trade Commission, Ruslan Aliev; Head of Russian Trade Commission Karachi, Sergey Plyushchov; other Diplomats; Senior Officials from many government entities also visited the Event.

Announcing closing of the Event,President GatewEcommerce ay, Dr. Khursheed Nizam said that ITCN Asia will continue to grow and it will attract more key players from the ICT sector. “We are looking forward to ITCN Asia 2012, which will be held from 18-20 September 2012 at Karachi Expo Centre”, he added.

Speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro was the Chief Guest at the Inauguration Ceremony held today.

Country Manager of Microsoft Pakistan, Kamal Ahmed; Deputy CEO, Huawei Technologies Pakistan (PVT) Ltd, Colin Hu; Economic Consular of Iran, Syed Hasan Alvi; President Ecommerce Gateway, Dr. Khursheed Nizam were also present at the occasion.

The Chief Guest and Guest of Honor then visited the stall; met domestic & foreign visitors and witnessed the products that are catered to various ages, needs & requirements. ICT products / services, telecommunications equipments, systems, networking, IT solutions, software/ programs, office automation, latest PCs and laptops, mobile phones, multimedia devices and digital products are being displayed at ITCN Asia 2011. Some of the major participants include Microsoft; Huawei Technologies; INTEL, NDMA, etc.

While addressing media, the Chief Guest said that selection of ITCN Asia in Karachi by Microsoft to hold its Open Door Event shows that Pakistan possesses immense potential in Information & Communication Technology and this Event will contribute positively in tapping that potential.

Microsoft Open Door Event also began today at ITCN Asia. Today’s agenda was Future of Productivity on Cloud; Flexible Workstyle and Windows 8 Preview; Understanding Microsoft Private Cloud Strategy & Architecture; Microsoft Business Solutions; SQL Denali What's new; Securing the Enterprise with Microsoft Forefront.
